For information to access the starting point for North West Face, on Quartz Hill, please see the Sunshine Resort Slack/Sidecountry ski zone page.
The low angled North West Face of Quartz Hill, from it's north west highpoint along Quartz Ridge, offers a less committing option than the North East Face from the summit but with still excellent views. This area does get cross loaded and you may run into a mixture of wind slab and powder. Snow conditions will often improve as you ski down into the Larix Lake area.Ski Line Info: [?]

GR861551 (high point for run)
GR852566 (Larix Lake)Directions:
If you have a lift ticket take the Strawberry chair lift and ski south, directly towards Quartz Hill, once off the lift. Otherwise skin from the village using the green runs to the east of Strawberry lift.
Follow the depression to the east of Rock Isle Lake for about 1.5km before climbing on the west side of Quartz Ridge. Once on the ridge you can ski down to the south west where you would like and lap using the south ridge. If skiing all the way to Larix Lake you can get back to the resort by heading directly north through rolling broken forest to come out between Standish and Twin Cairns.
