Summer Trail Slopes, Healy 3Massive Range
- CanadaBanff National Park
For information to access the starting point for Summer Trail Slopes, on Healy 3, please see the Healy Drainage ski zone page.
The Summer Trail Slopes offer low risk, low angled skiing for those looking for an easy day out. Sometimes while heading to Egypt Lake Shelter it is nice to climb to the pass, drop off some weight and take a few quick laps here. It would also be a good place for beginner backcountry skiers but it is a pretty long skin in compared to other places you could go in the park and you still need to pass through avalanche terrain to get there in the first place. This area is best combined with a run like Healy 3 Peak's South-East Face than as a destination on it's own.Ski Line Info: [?]

From the second bridge on the Healy Creek trail continue for another 3kms, below several avalanche paths before arriving at the turn off for Simpson Pass Trail. At the Simpson Pass Trail fork go climber's right following the Healy Creek Trail through a steeper section for 1.5km until you reach a tree line area with a creek bed to the climber's right. Follow the creek bed a short distance until noticing the Summer Trail Slopes to the north. From here you can skin up to any of the high points in order to ski these short slopes.
