Middle North Bowl, The Monarch
Ball Range - British Columbia - Canada
Kootenay National Park

For information to access the starting point for Middle North Bowl, on The Monarch, please see the East Verdant Creek ski zone page.

This large feature provides excellent skiing throughout and some amazing views of the Redearth Pass area. The upper section is bowl like with the bottom half having a couloir feel to it due to the large cliff walls. The cliff walls also have several short couloir runs found in them. Although hard to tell from afar, this run has several steep rolls within it likely created from old terminal moraines.

Directions:
From the Monarch Ramparts camp area follow the terminal moraine trim lines west until under the run. Skin up the run working around the steeper rolls. Near the top you can head directly to the back col (usually a large corince) or head climber's left to extend your run a little (windward/cross loaded face) but the less risky option is to ski down short of either.
