This zone has a ton of different options with a short, easy and usually packed access route making this an ideal place for day tipping.

Mount Bell's southern aspect has over a dozen avalanche paths, the Consolation Pass area provides some lower angle slopes while Boom Mountain's north face has several steep and committing couloirs carved in it. One could even head up to Boom Glacier to make attempts at Bident and Quadra Mountains.

From the Boom Lake parking lot follow the well marked and usually well packed trail for just over 4kms before finding a small open section above you. From here the trail usually splits in two but rejoin after a short distance. Anytime after they rejoin you can ski directly down into the forest towards the east end of Boom Lake. From here you have easy access to all the runs in the area by travelling over Boom Lake.
